Page 1 of 3 I love social media. It has less than a few years as the new buzzword for marketers to sell stuff. That is of coarse you. The things now I see is a new trend in adding rules to even how to use them. Examples: proper twitter use, proper Facebook use, & even Youtube etiquette.
This new set of online life now draws also good writers to waist a weekend sitting at the coffee house to writeup a 300 page book on the crap. From Idiot guides purchased at your local book store, to giving themselves fancy titles like Social Media Scientists! What makes this different for me is I was there. The hole time, as it grew. I jumped on the sites, been the first handfuls to be apart of it. I find myself conflicted to see that honestly there is nothing special about it, except it's a revamp of online communication & communities which have always been there. It is now just dumbed down for the online novice from the days of IRC, BBS's, & the old school alt.boards.
